Thanks Amy! Hey Jason! I would heartily disagree - it is precisely becuase marketing and selling a film is not a once and done role that you need a PMD. There are many ways to skin a cat - but essentially this work must be done if you don't have a distributor - and just as you most likely didn't make a film by yourself - I don't feel you should release a film by yourself.

The only thing we struggle with is trying to figure out how to raise enough money that can be supported without traditional distribution. Marketing and selling a movie is not a once-and-done role. And in this regard, the role of PMD does not fit into the freelance paradigm.

I have gotten some attention and recognition in my local film community from being apart of trailer wars. I'm stoked to have found such a killer site to let it fly and have the people decide. I actually have a few favorites of my own!

Hi! Sorry for the delay! I've emailed the 168 Project to find out for you, as I don't see it mentioned in the copy of the rules I've obtained. They have not responded yet, but I'll post again here as soon as they do. :)

So.... Does it break the rules of the 168 Project, to make a trailer of your film before the production week starts?

Sounds interesting. Is there a discount for early sign-ups and what would the cut-off date be?
